Parappu Rasam is a traditional tamilnadu style rasam. The mix has all the necessary dry ingredients and pulses that you may need appart from your wet ingredients. So easy & fast to prepare your rasam, with the instructions on the pack, it”s so simple that “Anybody can cook” No artificial preservatives or colours used.
Instructions for Yummy Homemade Parupu Rasam (Lentil Rasam)
1 cup coriander & curry leaf stems, about 10 pods of garlic with skin (mash or whisk for a few seconds) semi grind 3 to 4 medium sized ripe tomatoes 1/4 cup of black tamarind juice (optional)
Method: Add about 4/5 tbsp of cooking oil in a Wok/kadai, add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, ½ tsp Jeera (cumin) seeds, curry leaves & a few dry red chilies, (Now add the crushed garlic, curry leaf & coriander stems), add 2 to 3 tbsp of “Gramas Rasam Powder” and a bit of asafoetida, to this add crushed tomatoes and cook for a while, Add water along with the tamarind juice, salt & pepper to taste, boil it well, garnish with fresh coriander leaves and enjoy your homemade Rasam.
